If you are looking to start up a Spray Tanning Business, you may be as confused as everyone as to which system is best for your needs. There are so many on the market all promising ease of use and that they use less liquid than others on the market... so how can you tell if the system you are buying is going to deliver what it promises?

After hundreds of emails asking for my advise I have put together 2 different systems for Spray Tanning. One I believe to be a fantastic system for professional use and one that is ideal for home or personal use. I hope the detail descriptions below can help guide you into making to right purchase for your needs. Professional System: Seperate compressor and spray gun

Spray Gun

• Gravity fed gun - Liquid is supplied to the gun from above the outlet
• Easier to fill & set up than a HVLP suction fed system.

Compressor

• Heavy duty oil-less mini compressor - designed for long periods of use (multiple tans)
• Compact & Portable- 4.5kg in weight this system is perfect for mobile use or to have set up in your salon.
• Quieter than a HVLP system as the compressor isn't continually blowing air.

This System is the same system I have used for the past 4 years. When I started researching systems I have found that my little unit was as good as any of the pricey systems like the Iwata set up, but at a more affordable price. I also found that my system was far superiour to the HVLP systems on the market. The HVLP systems look cute, but really they just don't cut the mustard if you want a machine for pofessional use. HVLP systems are noisy, have limited functions, use far more liquid and do not apply as evenly as my professional system.

This Spray Tanning system can be used with all tanning solutions.

My Personal HVLP system:

Like all HVLP systems it will use on average 100mls of liquid per tan, costing you around $6-$10 per tan. Great if you are wanting to save and do your own tanning at home, but not so great if you are wanting make a great profit from your spray tanning business.

HVLP stands for High Volue Low Pressure which means that they are designed to pump out liquid FAST. This system will apply a tan very quickly to the entire body, however due to the wide spray pattern (which cannot be adjusted with a HVLP system) you have less accuracy so your application will not be as professional.

The difference between my Professional & Personal System

Personal System:

• Suction Fed Plastic Gun- suction fed guns work by drawing the liquid from below the gun outlet
• Wider Spray Pattern- HVLP systems work on High Volume Low Pressure to deliver a wide and fast application of liquid to the gun. This system will use on average 80mls of liquid per tan due to the excess over-spray.
• Compact & light weight - 2.2kg making it easy to keep stored in between tanning

While I market the HVLP system for personal use... it is a great entry level system for those on a tight budget. If you can afford to spend a bit more buy our Professional System as you will end up with a higher quality product that is designed to spray with greater accuracy and you will find it easier to use than our and other HVLP systems on the market.
