Brides to be...... here are some tips on tanning

Now when it comes to your big day, how you look is everything. Lots of brides are now opting for a fake tan on their wedding day for many reasons, however to ensure you get a great tan I have a few suggestions and tips.

1. Have a practice run -

Unless you have found the perfect tan I strongly suggest that you test out a few tans and methods before your wedding day. If you have been recommened to a certain place, call and book in a trial. Once you have your tan, you can also trial how it wears and how long it lasts.

Wear white clothing for the next 2 days or so after your fake tan. It will give you an idea of whether it may come off on your dress. I usually recommend to my bridal clients that they get a spray tan done 2 days before the big day.

2. Make this your last beauty treatment

Book in for your pedicure, facial and or massages before you tan. It is best to keep your skin as un-touched as possible once you have your tan applied to avoid it coming off in areas. Treatments such as a massage, facial and pedicure involve exfoliation and or a lot of touching which could remove your tan. I am not saying you should miss out, just plan to do them before your tan. I recommend getting any waxing done at least 5 days before you tan to ensure a nice even coverage.

3. Get your groom involved

I know most men are a bit funny when it comes to fake tan, but if you are getting hitched to a guy who is going to look like a pale ghost next to you, it may be an idea to get him done too. Now it is best not to drag them around getting spray tan trials done to have them testing loads of different lotions, as they’ll just refuse to wear one. Rather once you have found the perfect tan, ask him to try it a couple of weeks before your big day. I know that most guys (they’ll never admit it) once tanned actually like how they look.

4. Pay to get it done

A professional spray tan done for your wedding day would be my suggestion. It takes the pressure off you getting the application perfect or ending up with tan marks on your hands and or feet. I personally would recommend one of the following tans for a bride.... BE Tanned, Fake Bake, St Tropez or Bonza Bronze. All of these tans will offer a lovely natural tan without being too dark.

Getting Married in Noosa? I can come as your own personal spray tanner.

5. Tan on your dress?

If you find that your tan has stained your beautiful dress, don’t panic yet, as it should come off. Using warm soapy water on a damp sponge should lift it off. If you get your dress dry cleaned, they should be able to lift off any tan residue that may have stained the fabric. Just let them know it is there.
